Student Lending

At New Ross Credit Union, we understand the pressures of being a student.  "Student Life" shouldn’t be a contradiction in terms. "Exams" "Term Papers" "The best years of your life!"  We know that you don’t have time to worry about money. That is why we have smart news for you. We can help you figure out where to put your money and how to get more when you need it.

Scholarships

New Ross Credit Union's Merit Award recognizes the contribution of our community builders of tomorrow. The growth of New Ross Credit Union and the communities it serves exemplifies the achievements of people working together in their own communities. We hope to encourage those qualities of good citizenship and co-operation through this scholarship program.

Nova Scotia Credit Unions, though the Nova Scotia Credit Unions Charitable Foundation, have partnered with Nova Scotia Community Colleges (NSCC) to provide a bursary program for NSCC students.  Providing up to $13,000 annually in bursaries to NSCC students; the Foundation and Nova Scotia Credit Unions are very proud of their relationship with NSCC and their support of NSCC students.  The Foundation provides more support to students through bursaries that any other financial institution.

At New Ross Credit Union, we understand the pressures of being a student.  If you are 19 years or older and attending a post secondary institution, we are here to help take some of the financial pressures away; control expenses and make record keeping easier with a chequing account designed especially for students.

Credit Cards

If you are a student with a limited income, a student credit card might be for you.  This convenient payment option will provide you with the security of buying now and paying later for those little things that just come up.  With a Student MasterCard® you can start building a credit rating before you enter the workforce.

Loans and Lines of Credit

A Student Loan or Student Line of Credit is an affordable way to make continuing education possible.  Designed for students who are not eligible under the Canada Student Loan Program or who require additional funding.
